The election period is fast approaching.  Different Political parties are planning their own strategies to win in the election on May.  Campaign period is yet to come but some of our candidates seem to take advantage from the other by posting their wide smiles on public places, some even posted pictures.

The posting of pictures on public places before the campaign period according to the COMELEC is illegal.  In this case, the possibility of violating the rules of Comelec is far from reality because these candidates have taken advantage it.  These candidate’s awareness about the law of the commission have gone in the higher level. Thus they can prove to the world that they are not violating any rule.
On the part of the voters especially those in the depressed areas, their awareness and knowledge about their candidates is not sufficient because they focus more on their day to day living.  In addition, this is an advantage for those who are planning to buy votes.

Today, the election process has also gone to another level.  That a candidate should have lots of money not only to finance the campaign period, but to be able to compete with rival candidate.  They say, “politics is the dirtiest game,” I do not agree with this.  Politics is good because from here we, as the voters will have the chance to select the best leader. The dirty part is the candidate, that most of our future leaders and aspiring to be our leader don’t have the qualities of a leader.

Especially on the higher level, most of them want to win the election so that their business will be protected or they want to win so that some of their business would be utilized, a two birds in one stone strategy.  Today, we could only count on our fingers the politicians that have pure intentions of elevating the country from poverty.
