Democracy Icon Corazon Aquino suffers from Colon Cancer

Last Monday, Former Philippines President Corazon Aquino, a woman who is a world icon for democracy who led the People Power Revolution that ousted the Dictatorship of President Ferdinand Marcos was rushed to the hospital due to colon cancer, her daughter Kris Aquino confirmed.
Corazon “Cory” Aquino became famous after the People Power Revolution. Time Magazine selected Mrs. Aquino as Woman of the Year and also nominated to receive the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986.
Her reign as President of Philippines was struck by a number of coup attempts, but had finished her term of six years.
During the past few months Mrs. Aquino was active on her social engagements joining rallies particularly on the National Broadband Network deal of the Gloria Administration to China’s ZTE Corporation due to allegedly anomalous transactions. She also urges President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to resign.
All of her friends, political allies and supporters are offering prayer for her fast recovery.
