Telecom service provider Bharti Airtel Friday launched a per second billing plan.As per the new plan, the customers will be charged one paisa per second for all local and national long-distance calls within Bharti’s network and 1.20 paise per second for calls to other networks, the company said in a statement.

Telecom giant Bharti Airtel is the flagship company of Bharti Enterprises. The Bharti Group, has a diverse business portfolio and has created global brands in the telecommunication sector. Bharti has recently forayed into retail business as Bharti Retail Pvt. Ltd. under a MoU with Wal-Mart for the cash & carry business.

Apple has authorised Bharti Airtel to ‘unlock’ its 3G iPhones, launched earlier, enabling the Indian company to sell it through their stores to any user, not necessarily only an Airtel subscriber.

Readers may recollect the low cost net PC launched by Novatium last year. Bharti Airtel has now launched a low cost net PC on similar lines. The Airtel Net PC is being marketed in Airtel and Next stores for a cost of Rs7,999.

Shares in Bharti Airtel (BRTI.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) fell as much as 6 percent on Thursday after the leading Indian telecom firm's chief executive sold his holding in the company.Manoj Kohli, who sold 123,000 stocks through open market transactions in two tranches on March 6 and 9, later said he had done so for personal reasons. Kohli said he still held 180,000 options and would continue as CEO and joint managing director.
