Mahindra Renault, Nissan Auto and Indian partner Bajaj Auto have made a plan to introduce a ULC (Ultra Low cost) car in 2012.

Bajaj Auto has announced that it will produce a car that will cost $2,500 i. e. about Rs 1.1 Lakh. It is going to be associated with Renault-Nissan for this Rs. 1.1Lakh car project. However, the Tata's are finding it difficult to produce their "People's Car", Tata Nano at Rs. 1 lakh.

Worlds cheapest car Nano from Tata Motors that had caught global attention at its unveiling at the Delhi Auto Expo in 2008 will also be rolled out in select international markets within the next two years and called Nano Europa. Tata Motors will launch Nano on March 23 in Mumbai.

In a statement, Tata Group head Ratan Tata said Nano has also generated wide interest in developed countries and Tata Motors would launch Nano Europa within the next two years.

Tata Motors Ltd. has set March 23 as the launch date for its 100,000 rupees ($2005) minicar, about three months behind initial schedule after the auto maker had to relocate its factory late last year.

Tata Motors is all set to launch the worlds cheapest car Nano . Though officially the company is still to announce the launch date, sources said Nano was likely to hit the roads next month, probably on March 3, the birth anniversary of Tata groups founder Jamsetji Tata.

Shares of Tata Motors attracted investor attention ahead of the launch of its Nano, the world’s cheapest car.Described as 'people's car' by Ratan Tata, customers can expect to own a car at a price between Rs. 1.20 lakh and Rs. 1.30 lakh, depending on the version of Nano.

On the National Stock Exchange, Tata Motors is rising more than 4% to Rs, 167.40 ahead of the launch of its much-awaited world's cheapest car 'Nano' in Mumbai later in the day. After the launch in Mumbai, Nano would be displayed at the company's dealerships from the first week of April and the bookings would start from the following week.

Bajaj Auto intends to bring new bajaj bikes in India in the next year. According to a senior Bajaj official the company will launch bikes in premium and entry-level segment. In only entry-level segment, Bajaj's recent launch, Bajaj Discover, has seen a great success.

India's Tata Motors is willing to return the original site for its ultra-cheap Nano car if the state government compensates for the investment on the land, its chairman said on Tuesday.
