Durga Soren, the eldest son of JMM chief Shibu Soren, died in Bokarao on Thursday due to suspected kidney failure.Durga, a former JMM MLA, was 39. He is survived by wife and three daughters, family sources said.

JMM Leader Shibu Soren's son Durga Soren passed away this morning following a kidney failure. He fell ill last night after the urea level increased in his body. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, but succumbed.

Jharkhand- The Election Commission of India has declared the Jharkhand Assembly election results 2009. These are the results of the general elections that have been held been in the state after four years. It had not been held for all these years as the state, that had been separated from Bihar in the year 2009, could not secure the number of votes that are required for a party to gain majority. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appeared to be the biggest loser Wednesday with indications that it had lost 10 seats in the Jharkhand assembly election while the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajantantrik (JVM-P) floated by former BJP man Babulal Marandi was the biggest gainer.

Jharkhand was on Wednesday headed towards a hung Assembly with indications that no political group or combine was likely to get a majority in the 81-member House.

Rakesh Mohan , the Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India would be moving to Stanford University in U.S., reported the media. His term as deputy governor was to end in January 2010. He will be leaving RBI on June 10 to join as Distinguished Consulting Professor at the Stanford Centre of International Development. His name was also reckoned last year for the job of RBI Governor.
