A team of Indian intelligence officials left the US disappointed after a week-long stay in Washington as they could not question American national David Coleman Headley, arrested by the FBI on charges of plotting a major terror attack in India at the behest of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).

Ajmal Kasab, accused in the 26/11 terror strike in Mumbai, said he met Lashkar-e-Toiba agent David Coleman Headley but retracted from his statement on his involvement in the attack, reports said on Friday.

Pakistan 's own investigation into 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks concludes "beyond any reasonable doubt" that it was militants from the terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) who carried out the carnage, according to the New York Times.

Territorial Army and police sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, fear that one of their personnel has deserted his unit and joined the Lashkar-e-Toiba.
