Microsoft presented it’s next generation of the Internet Explorer web browser at the web developer’s conference in Las Vegas. At the conference, Microsoft put some code from the new browser on display and gave a “platform preview” of IE9.

Microsoft is expected to release a security patch to address a Critical vulnerability in IE8. For December, Microsoft is planning to release six new security bulletins that are expected different vulnerabilities in several Windows products.

Microsoft Internet Explorer users aren't exactly rushing to embrace IE 8, the new release of the Web browser that debuted Thursday.As of 1 p.m. EDT Friday, usage of IE 8 accounted for only 1.56 percent of global Internet traffic, according to StatCounter Global Stats. That's up only slightly from 1.39 percent on Thursday.
