Five employees of Infosys Technologies were killed in a road accident in Karnataka’s Belgaum district Thursday, police said.The incident took place after the driver lost control over the KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) Airavatha bus carrying 43 Infosys employees at Hukkeri Taluka in Belgaum, northern Karnataka, 480 km from here.

Within a period of six months, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation KSRTC has resorted to hike the bus fare.

KSRTC is the first State Transport Undertaking to introduce computerised passenger seat reservation system passwengers will avail the facility.KSRTC has deployed Electronic Ticketing Machines on its routes. These ETMs are first of their kind in the nation as they are programmed for capturing kms., HSD, Inspection details etc. The ETMs are very much liked by the conductors as they are finding their job easy.

KSRTC is the government owned transport corporation of Karnataka. KSRTC operates around 5700 schedules and with a fleet of 6600 buses. A low-floor DTC bus broke down near Moolchand in South Delhi on Monday afternoon after sparks and smoke were reportedly noticed at the rear end of the vehicle. No one was injured in the incident, Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) officials said.
