Worlds cheapest car Nano from Tata Motors that had caught global attention at its unveiling at the Delhi Auto Expo in 2008 will also be rolled out in select international markets within the next two years and called Nano Europa. Tata Motors will launch Nano on March 23 in Mumbai.

In a statement, Tata Group head Ratan Tata said Nano has also generated wide interest in developed countries and Tata Motors would launch Nano Europa within the next two years.

India's largest vehicle maker Tata Motors announced today that 55,021 applicants, who missed out on the allotment of the first batch of 100,000 units of the world's cheapest car Nano, have decided to retain their bookings .

Application forms for the online booking of Tata Nano will be available at Tata Motors dealerships, State Bank of India (SBI) branches, Westside, Croma stores (Both Tata Initiatives). Tata Motors is likely to charge around Rs 300 for every application which is not good idea. Application forms for the Nano, the much-awaited Rs 1 lakh car, will not come for free.

Tata Motors is finally launching the world’s cheapest car at a function in Mumbai on March 23, 2009. Tata Nano will be retailed at Tata Motors dealerships from the first week of April 2009. Booking will commence from the second week of April 2009.

After unveiling the car a year and a half ago at the Auto Expo, Ratan Tata, Chairman, Tata Motors will hand over the keys of the Nano to its first customer tomorrow at the Tata Motors owned showroom in Prabhadevi, Mumbai.

On the National Stock Exchange, Tata Motors is rising more than 4% to Rs, 167.40 ahead of the launch of its much-awaited world's cheapest car 'Nano' in Mumbai later in the day. After the launch in Mumbai, Nano would be displayed at the company's dealerships from the first week of April and the bookings would start from the following week.

Tata Motors Ltd. has set March 23 as the launch date for its 100,000 rupees ($2005) minicar, about three months behind initial schedule after the auto maker had to relocate its factory late last year.
