Delhi girl Ekta Chaudhary Monday failed to make it to the top 15 finalists of the Miss Universe 2009 contest here, dashing hopes of getting the crown back to India.

The beauty queen Kaiane Aldorino from Gibraltar is announced as the winner of Miss World contest in Johannesburg, South Africa. On the other hand the first runner up was Perla Beltran Acosta, Miss Mexico. Tatum Keshwar from South Africa was the second runner-up.

Miss Venezuela, Stefania Fernandez, won the Miss Universe 2009 contest at the Atlantis, Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas on Sunday.

It would be extremely difficult to select only Three out of 20 beautiful women. All the contestants of Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2009 (PFMI 2009) looked stunning on Sunday (April 5) night but at the end of the contest, Three winners walked away with the coveted crowns.

Ekta Choudhary, 22-year-old girl from Delhi, won the Pantaloons Femina Miss India Universe 2009 title and Pooja Chopra from Pune was crowned Miss India World 2009.

Miss Normandy, 22-year-old Malika Ménard, took the title of Miss France on Saturday while Miss Rhône-Alpes was designated second runner-up.

Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2009 Final will be held in Mumbai on April 5th, 20009. Beauty Queen from this event will be representing her country at Miss World 2009, Miss Universe 2009 and Miss Earth 2009 pageant.

The planet was their arena literally. The finalists of Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2009 walked down the ramp with confidence and answered with ease.The judges- Madhur Bhandarkar, Ajay Devgan, Sushmita Sen, Asin and Deepika Padukone had a tough time choosing the winners.Ekta Choudhary of Delhi bagged the Miss India Universe title. Pooja Chopra of Mumbai won the Miss India World title while the crown of Miss India Earth was won by Mumbai’s Shriya Kishore.

Quite a few of the Indian beauties have clinched the Miss World crown in the past. Reita Faria, Aishwarya Rai, Diana Hayden, Yukta Mookhey and Priyanka Chopra have all been crowned Miss World previously.
