The joint Entrance Examinations Board was formed as west Bengal Board of Examination for Admission to Engineering Degree Colleges in the year 1962, born out of a concept of holding a common admission test for the Engineering colleges of the State of West Bengal.

The west Bengal joint Entrance Examinations Board was formed as west Bengal Board of Examination for Admission to Engineering Degree Colleges in the year 1962, born out of a concept of holding a common admission test for the Engineering colleges of the State of West Bengal. The basic purpose was to select candidates for consideration for admission to the State Colleges on the basis of the results of a single competitive examination, which would also lead to saving of time, energy and expenditure on the part of the candidates in appearing at number of entrance tests.

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination 2009 (WBJEE) (JEM-2009)Applications are invited from Indian Citizens for admission to undergraduate courses in Engineering/Technology/ Medical/Dental and Pharmacy in Universities/Colleges in West Bengal and B. Arch Course in Bengal Engineering and Science University.

The result of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEM-2010) (for admission to degree level Engineering / Technological, Medical, Dental etc. courses in Universities / Colleges / Institutions in West Bengal) will be declared on Thursday, the 27th May, 2010. In this context, a Press Conference has been arranged on the same day at 12.00 noon at the 8th Floor of the Office of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board.

Educational Qualification: General Candidates must pass H.S. (10+2) Examination of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination recognized by the West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences with individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and Vernacular (or any other fifth subject) along with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the said qualifying examination (10+2). In respect of SC and ST candidates the aforesaid marks will be 40% instead of 50%.

WBJEEB JEHOM 2009 Applications are invited from the intending citizens of India who have either passed H.S.(10 2) or its equivalent exam. in general stream for admission to the Bachelors degree in Hotel Management Course offered by the following Hotel Management Colleges in West Bengal.
