The U.S. National Hurricane Center said Tropical Storm Danny formed on Wednesday east of the Bahamas, packing winds near 45 miles per hour as of 11 a.m. EDT (1500 GMT), with the storm expected to strengthen into the season's second hurricane later in the week.
