In a perfect baseball world the Rockies could afford to keep all of their homegrown talent. But reality bites, even in Lo-Do. Times are tough and so is dealing with Scott Boras, who wasn't going to allow Holliday to get sentimental and sign a hometown deal here.Even if it was mandated by ownership, I think general manager Dan O'Dowd's decision to deal the superstar with the $100-million swing sooner rather than later this season was a home run.
