Notification Area of the computer is the area located in the right corner of you taskbar (When horizontal) or bottom part of the taskbar (when vertical). The area consist of icon like network connection icon, action center icon, sound icon etc. Also when system has to notify about something then the usually gets displayed on the computer screen attached with the Notification area.
