The Windows Live Messenger executable needs to be changed, in order to remove the advertisements. For this first you should download the 'A-Patch for Windows Live Messenger' and run it on your PC. This can be downloaded from the following url:'http://apatch.org/'. Once the Windows Live Messenger is launched, select the 'Patch MSN messenger' option. Click the next button twice. Here check off the option 'Remove advertisement'. Click on next. On page 5 again you need to check off the 'Remove advertisement' option at the bottom.
