Due to the absence of bird flu cases in the United States, they are not giving importance to it.  This is also happening from other countries.  But in the Philippines, cases have been reported and the migratory birds coming from china and neighboring countries carry the disease.

The Health Care department advised the people not to catch or even go near to an animal (like chicken) suspected with bird flu.

John Barlett quoted, “The number of cases in 2006 was more than it was in 2005, which is more than it was in 2004.” The acquisition of H5N1 virus as they say it continues to rise. This should be dealt with accordingly.

Two Indonesian women died last week due to bird flu. This has made the world death toll from 159 out of a total 256 infected since 2003.

“It’s there to stay in birds which means it is just waiting for the opportunity to make the mutation,” Bartlett said.

The virus continues to move, ready to take advantage to humans.  This could be then easily transmitted and it might kill million within a month.

The government and the health care department should be ready when this disease strikes, everybody should participate in the dissemination of information regarding bird flu and its symptoms to prevent a wide disaster.
