Swine Flu Fright Smothers Haj Warmth, avoid hugging or shaking hands

Indians going on Haj this time should avoid hugging or shaking hands with pilgrims from other countries to ward off swine flu , according to a health ministry advisory.

4,265 people named to perform Haj from the state Jaipur

Rajasthan State Haj Committee, on Tuesday announced the names of applicants who will go to Saudi Arabia to perform Haj this year. The committee had organized lottery based on districts at the Haj House to select the fixed quota of 4,265 Haj pilgrims on the basis of Muslim population in the state. The Haj committee had received more then 18,000 applications from all over the state.

Haj Committee Announces Haj-2009 Programme

The Haj Committee of India has announced the programme for Haj 1430 (H) -2009. According to Chairman, J&K State Haj Committee, the first phase, single Haj application form for provisional registration for Haj-1430 (H)-2009, can be made by the persons intending to go on Haj.These forms will be available with the J&K State Haj Committee and the respective Deputy Commissioners from March 05, 2009.
