After TRS Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) won the battle for a separate Telangana state, by observing a 11-day fast-unto-death, the Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM) announced an indefinite hunger strike to press for a separate Gorkhaland state. GJM has been demanding a separate Gorkhaland state to be carved out of northern parts of West Bengal.

A Telangana sympathiser, who set himself on fire four days ago protesting the arrest of TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, succumbed to his burn injuries in a hospital here.

TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is on a fast-unto-death for a separate Telangana state, was admitted to a Government Hospital here on Thursday after being shifted from Khammam.
