A 21-year-old woman succumbed to swine flu in Srinagar, becoming the first victim of the H1N1 virus in Jammu and Kashmir. One death each in Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Gujarat during the day took India's toll from the virus to 699, health authorities said here Sunday.

Three Hizbul Mujahideen militants, including two self-styled commanders, were killed in a gunbattle which broke out between the ultras and security forces in Shopian district of south Kashmir today.
