Tonight’s American Idol finale was a good one. It was jam packed with surprise performances that included Black Eyed Peas, Kiss, Keith Urban, Cyndi Lauper, and many others.

Iraheta, the smokey-voiced 17-year-old rocker chick from Southern California, was the odd person out after failing to win voters over with her version of Janis Joplin’s “Cry Baby.” This, despite the fact Danny Gokey made a brutal nightmare of Aerolsmith’s “Dream On.” Many thought Allison had a lock on a Top 3 spot after her rousing duet with Adam Lambert .

Kris Allen's up second on American Idol, singing "How Sweet It Is," another great Marvin Gaye song, written by Smokey Robinson. "Kris blew me away," he says.

"Don't touch that dial!"Kris is playing his guitar as always, in a boy scoutish uniform. Wow, great, slowed-down intro; he's having a lot of fun with the song, working the crowd a bit. And those facial expressions--really emotive.
