Life Insurance Corporation LIC Housing plans to raise Rs 500 crore via public deposits
LIC Housing Finance, the home loan arm of Life Insurance Corp, aims to raise Rs 500 crore through public deposits in 2009-10. The move is part of it strategy to shed dependence on the wholesale funding market.The company last year received permission from the Reserve Bank of India to raise deposits from the public and raised Rs 170 crore.

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) finally launched its much awaited white-labelled credit card on Monday, March 30th.Launching the card, LIC Managing Director D K Mehrotra said, "We have launched our credit card today. The card would be like other credit cards but we will also offer value-added services like payment of premiums for our policy-holders."
