The morning of the championship game dawned foggy, rainy, snowy and windy Monday, with so much mist around the high floors of Renaissance Center that you could barely see the Detroit River, Belle Isle, the Ambassador Bridge, Cobo Hall or Ford Field.But that was in the here and now and it did not matter. The better window was the one to the past, the big-screen television in the hotel room that showed a video of Magic Johnson of Michigan State and Larry Bird of Indiana State a mere 30 years before.
