Dwayne Bravo’s sparkling unbeaten knock of 70 runs coupled with an impressive performance by the spinners helped the Mumbai Indians thrash the Kings XI Punjab by eight wickets in an Indian Premier League match on Tuesday. The victory kept the Mumbai side’s hope for a semi-final berth alive.

Mumbai Indians over powered Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural game of IPL Season 2 with their bowling climbing on new peaks and there by rattling the last time runners up by 19 runs to register their first win in DLF IPL. Setting a target of 166 with the help of Tendulkar and A Nayyar, Mumbai Indians relied on the Malinga Magic for claiming their first win leaving great willows of Hayden, Flintoff and Dhoni fruitless at the end.

The opening game of the IPL 2009 will see Sachin Tendulkar's Mumbai Indians, take on IPL 2008 finalists, the Chennai Super Kings, at Newlands in Cape Town.
