Vishal Bhardwaj has done it again. After the success of ‘Kaminey’, his rustic ‘Ishqiya’ has beaten the Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Rann’ at the box office, thanks to its appealing content.Both movies released Friday and had star-studded red-carpet premieres in the capital Thursday, but ‘Ishqiya’ took the cake with almost 80 percent collections in the opening weekend. ‘Rann’ got only around 30 percent collections.

The music of Rann like Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar and Sarkar Raj is quite situational though one may not like to hear it in leisure. But yes they will have a potential to leave an impact on the minds while watching movie and one can surely buy this album. These composers have undoubtedly caught marvelously the theme of movie which is visible in music and lyrics.

Film-maker Ramgopal Varma will move the Bombay high court on Monday against the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for banningthe promo of his Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Rann. The CBFC rejected the promo on the grounds that the lyrics of a song were a distorted version of the National Anthem.

Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan and filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma promoted their forthcoming movie Rann in New Delhi. Rann meaning battle in English is an attempt by Varma to expose Indian media. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, this movie features well known actors of Bollywood like Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala and Rajat Kapoor. Also in the star cast are Riteish Deshmukh, Purab Kohli and Gul Panag.
