Mercedes-Benz India expects 2009 sales to be lower than the previous year largely because of lower availability of credit and also due to the effect of the global economic crisis.

The country's second largest two-wheeler maker, Bajaj Motorcycle on Monday reported a 52.38 per cent increase in its motorcycle sales at 2,49,681 units in October.

Maruti Suzuki announced that the sales in September exceeded by 30 per cent. This is due to the robust demand during the festive season.
