Eight swine flu deaths, five of them in Maharashtra, were reported on Thursday, taking the toll in India to 374, health authorities here said.

Twelve thousand doses of nasal H1N1 flu vaccine should arrive in the state this week and will be shipped to medical providers statewide, the New Mexico Department of Health announced Monday afternoon.

The World Health Organisation said on Tuesday that nearly 13,000 people have been confirmed infected with the new H1N1 flu strain but the number of countries affected is stable at 46.

All four persons, who had arrived here from abroad in the last few days and were suspected to be suffering from H1N1 flu , have tested negative for the virus.The samples taken from an NRI from Ontario in Canada , who was admitted to a hospital here after he complained of flu like symptoms on May 3, have also tested negative for the H1N1 virus, Professor, Respiratory Medicine at Government Chest Hospital Dr Sudhakar told PTI.
